Caring for a loved one with Parkinson’s Disease can be demanding and/or overwhelming, leaving the care partner stressed and exhausted.
Our new grant program is an attempt to provide a small, needed break or “respite” for our care partners. Each grant award will not exceed $1200, and will be limited to one grant per family, per year.
PNMD has arranged with approved service agencies that provide in-home respite care and are licensed and insured with trained staff to provide the respite care. By subsidizing the cost of care, grant awards will provide the care partner with the opportunity to arrange for individually-tailored respite care. See our article in the September Issue of the Shaky Times.
Grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Our initial service area will be limited to Contra Costa and Alameda counties.
